Inspired by my peers' lived experiences in times of instability, such as a politically polarizing environment and an unprecedented pandemic, I chose to explore the adolescent resilience in the face of adversity by asking: how can I stimulate interpretations of the depth of childhood beyond simply what meets the eye? I consciously focus on facial expressions, eyes, and body language to capture the often-overlooked emotional nuances in youth through my art. Holistically, my art journey is a study on adolescent curiosity, liberation, vulnerability, and self-discovery in the face of turmoil.
